Luxembourg's Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region has announced that the application form for an energy bonus for low-income households is now online.
This energy bonus, proposed by Luxembourg's Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, forms part of the package of measures aimed at households that have been badly affected by the rise in energy prices. The Government Council approved this energy bonus on Friday 18 March 2022.
Households benefiting from the cost-of-living allowance (allocation de vie chère - AVC) will receive an energy bonus of between €200 and €400 depending on the composition of the household. Households that are not eligible for the cost-of-living allowance but whose income is up to 25% higher than that eligible for this allowance may also apply for this energy bonus.
Households benefiting from the cost-of-living allowance will automatically benefit from the energy bonus. This concerns both households that have already obtained the payment and those that are still waiting to receive it; applications for obtaining the cost-of-living allowance previously refused due to a higher income will be reconsidered in accordance with the new provisions without needing to be submitted again. All other households must submit their application by 30 September 2022 at the latest.
The application form is now available on the National Solidarity Fund (Fonds national de solidarité - FNS) website and on Guichet.lu. Alternatively, applicants can request the form directly from the FNS or the competent social welfare office.
