Daily fuel prices in Luxembourg in 2021;

On the last day of the year, 31 December 2021, Chronicle.lu has reviewed the evolution of fuel (petrol, diesel, mazout) prices throughout the year, with analysis of the data revealing that fuel prices in Luxembourg have risen steadily in 2021 and are currently at least 25% higher than at the beginning of year.

The Unleaded 95 octane petrol (E95) price in effect today, Friday 31 December 2021, quoted at €1.414 per litre is 25.24% higher than the beginning-of-the-year prices of €1.129 per litre on 1 January 2021. The highest prices were recorded at €1.526 per litre between 11 November and 15 December 2021, inclusive.

Similarly, the price of diesel quoted at €1.353 per litre on 31 December 2021 is 29.23% higher than the beginning of year when the price was €1.047 per litre. Diesel prices peaked at €1.418 per litre between 28 October and 5 November 2021, inclusive.

Mazout (home heating oil) recorded the highest yearly inflation of 41.71% amongst the three, quoted at €0.744 per litre today, Friday 31 December 2021, compared to €0.525 per litre on 1 January 2021. Mazout prices rose to a high of €0.793 per litre between 15 October and 15 December 2021, inclusive.
