Luxembourg's Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning has announced that the new pricing for large photovoltaic installations is now available to all beneficiaries.

With the objective of further supporting the development of solar energy in Luxembourg, the government has adapted the pricing system. The new pricing applies to photovoltaic installations above 30 kW up to a maximum of 200 kW. This financial assistance is now directly accessible to farmers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and tertiary buildings without going through a civil society or cooperative - although cooperative societies keep a slightly preferential rate.

Larger projects, from 200 to 500 kW and from 500 kW to 5 MW, will be subject to a tender.

Luxembourg's Minister of Energy, Claude Turmes, explained: "By allowing more players to benefit from the advantageous pricing previously reserved for cooperatives and civil societies, we hope to convince even more players that photovoltaic energy is not only beneficial for the climate, but also for the economy since it directly supports the craft industry".
