On Monday 7 October 2025, the US Senate approved the appointment of Stacey Woolf Feinberg as the next Ambassador of the United States to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Commenting on the news on social media, Stacey Feinberg said she was “grateful to the US Senate for ratifying [her] appointment as the 25th US Ambassador to Luxembourg.”
Voting 51 to 47 (along party lines), senators confirmed more than 100 nominees - ambassadors but also domestic officials and UN representatives - including Stacey Feinberg, who had been named then US President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Ambassador to Luxembourg in December 2024.
The Ambassador-Designate’s remarks on China and China-Luxembourg relations during her Senate hearing in June 2025 sparked some controversy at the time.
On Thursday 9 October 2025, the US Embassy in Luxembourg publicly congratulated Ambassador Feinberg on her confirmation, writing on social media: “We are looking forward to her arrival at US Embassy Luxembourg, where she will represent President Trump and the American people to the great country of Luxembourg! We are excited for her leadership as we seek to deepen and strengthen our historic bilateral relationship.”
While the exact date of her arrival in Luxembourg has not yet been confirmed, US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Anthony Baird said at a reception in late September that Ambassador Feinberg was expected to arrive this autumn (in a matter of weeks).
She has also been named a guest of honour at the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg’s (AMCHAM) upcoming (sold-out) Thanksgiving Gala Dinner, scheduled for Friday 21 November 2025.
