The US Embassy Luxembourg and the American Battle Monuments Commission will host their annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Luxembourg American Military Cemetery & Memorial in Luxembourg-Hamm (Val du Scheid) on Friday 11 November 2022.

The event is open to the public and will begin promptly at 11:00; earlier arrival is recommended.

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a legal holiday in the United States (US) dedicated to the cause of world peace. Armistice Day was primarily a day to honour veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilisation of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen in all of US history, and after American forces had fought in Korea, the day was renamed Veterans Day. With the approval of the relevant legislation on 1 June 1954, 11 November became a day to honour American veterans of all wars.
