As many of the young people of Luxembourg have headed back to school on Tuesday 15 September 2015, the BEE SECURE initiative, which aims to promote the safe use of communication technology, released its 'Facebook 1x1' list of recommendations for using the social media network.
'Facebook 1x1' offers practical advice on engaging with Facebook in a way that will allow users to protect their personal information and privacy.
Using a X system to delineate the difficulty of implementing the security measures referenced, BEE SECURE offers guidelines for protecting user privacy. Measures include advice on creating a difficult-to-crack password; identity confirmation security; avoiding hacks; suggestions for privacy settings; photo tagging and Friend protection.
The extensive guide on possible Facebook settings offers important instructions on how avoid unwanted attention whilst retaining a good social media experience.
