On Monday, Luxembourg's Minister of National Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, signed an agreement with the Philharmonie Luxembourg, represented by the president of its board of directors, Pierre Ahlborn.

The annual financial contribution allocated by the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth in this agreement will serve to strengthen and perpetuate collaboration in several areas, namely: the annual organisation of a concert by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (OPL) with students who have obtained their higher diploma from a Luxembourg conservatory, who will perform as soloists; the annual organisation of a side-by-side concert with the OPL, bringing together musicians from the OPL and students from Luxembourg's conservatories; the annual organisation of practical internships within the OPL for students who have obtained their higher diploma in a Luxembourg conservatory; and the development of the educational offer for pupils in primary and secondary education, both at the Philharmonie and in the schools themselves.

During the signing of the agreement, Claude Meisch underlined the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth and the Philharmonie, both for students in primary and secondary education and for those in music education. Indeed, many students in Luxembourg pursuing the latter will be able to take advantage of the unique and prestigious opportunities offered with the OPL, an internationally renowned orchestra.
