Luxembourg Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna, today presented the 'MyGuichet' platform which will now allow for the electronic filing of tax returns for the income tax of communities, trade tax and the wealth tax of resident communities.
From 29 October 2015, communities established in Luxembourg will be able to use the MyGuichet secure interactive platform on guichet.lu to transmit their tax returns. This will gradually be made compulsory once communities have been given time to familiarise themselves with the new tool.
Every year around 90,000 communities established in Luxembourg send their tax returns to the relevant tax office of the Direct Tax Administration (ACD), which sets the tax to be paid. As a 24/7 accessible platform, the new process will aim to save communities valuable time whilst guiding the user through each stage of the procedure.
The 'MyGuichet' assistance will collate the data inputted in order to assess and provide the supporting, obligatory or optional documents needed. Certain fields of the form can also be pre-filled from information held in the personal 'MyGuichet' profile.
Users will need to use an identity card, Smartcard, Signing stick of Token with a 'LuxTrust' certificate in order to provide authentication and an electronic signature, meaning that the data inputted will remain secure and confidential. Once registered and logged in, the user will receive a designated space in which to fill out and sign the declaration, and will receive electronic messages from the ACD should the submitted forms be found incomplete.
The ACD and State Information Technology Centre (CTIE) have developed the joint initiative as part of the move towards e-governance and the simplification of trade between administrations, citizens and businesses, falling within the framework of the 'Digital Lëtezbuerg' programme. One of the objectives of this programme is to modernise government services and outline an innovative digital society geared towards future development.
