The new creation from Sandy Flinto and Pierrick Grobéty "Vanitas" will come to life on stage at Neimënster in Luxembourg-Grund, on 5 and 6 April 2019.

"Vanitas" tells the story of a man who suddenly becomes aware of being mortal. In a society dominated by consumerism and the cult of performance, where technological and scientific progress dictates the tempo, he asks himself the meaning of his life in an absurd face-to-face eeperience with death. Through the prism of a living painting, the play explores, for a period of time, the ephemeral nature of life.

On the set of this multidisciplinary play are an actor, a tattoo artist, a runner, two opera singers, a cellist and a medical-musical machine.

Since 2012, Sandy Flinto and Pierrick Grobéty have been moving between the visual and performing arts. Their mantra is experimentation in the different areas of artistic expression. Together, they have created numerous projects, between installation, video, performance, theatre and contemporary dance, thus uniting the visual and sound. Their multidisciplinary work pays particular attention to the weight of the media, balance and the complex relationship between them.

Since 2018, Sandy Flinto and Pierrick Grobéty have been artists/associates in residence, for a period of three years, at Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette.

The French-language play will take place on 5 April at at 20:00 and on 6 April at 19:00 in Salle Robert Krieps. It lasts 60 minutes.
