The GairolaZ Indian restaurant opens its doors to its new restaurant in Ellange (near Mondorf) today, Monday 16 May, after its move from Bettembourg where it had been for over four years; Sunday saw its pre-opening with a number of invited guests comprising loyal customers and neighbours.
The new restaurant is located in a rural setting but the significant space inside means it is open as a café from 10:00 to 22:00 daily (initially for 7 days/week), and has ample restaurant seating for 60+, compared to 38 when situated in Bettembourg. The restaurant offers a lunch menu at €10.50.
Chef and owner Saurabh Gairola operates an Ayurvedic Indian kitchen which he describes as meals for a healthy body and soul.
The new menu retains the Act I, Act II and Act III format - The Pledge, The Turn and The Prestige - for starters, main courses and desserts, forming the concept of an entertainment production with surprise and applause throughout, showcased by the magical use of various spices. With a much larger space for the kitchen in the new premises, the new menu - described as a sequel - is much more comprehensive and combines some of the most popular dishes from before, plus a host of new ones.
The menu also includes a comprehensive allergy reference list, something that is becoming increasingly common nowadays.
A pool table, table football and jeu des quilles (bowling) are also available at the back of the restaurant.
