On Tuesday 15 September 2015, American gourmet chef Hugh Acheson will join forces with food truck entrepreneurs from Luxembourg to create samplings of gastronomic blends.
Chef/partner at several restaurants in Georgia, USA, including 5&10, The National, Empire State South and The Florence, Hugh Acheson will combine traditional American dishes with Luxembourgish ingredients.
The award-winning chef, author and 'Top Chef' TV show judge will collaborate with American-inspired food truck owners from Luxembourg, including Bea of 'Joo'; Gregg Hell of 'Sofood'; Kim Conrardy of 'The Food Truck' and Vincent Lomell of 'The Karavan' to blend delicacies of both countries.
The event has been organised by the US Embassy Luxembourg and will allow Chef Acheson to discover the culinary delights of Luxembourg before continuing on to the Milan World Expo to participate in cooking demonstrations at the US Pavilion dedicated to Food Safety.
His blend of traditional Southern cooking with European flavours on offer at his restaurants has earned him, among others, a James Beard award for 'Best Chef Southeast' and the accolade of 'Best New Chef' by Food & Wine Magazine. He is also the author of cookbook 'A New Turn in the South: Southern Flavours Reinvented for your Kitchen' and has been featured in such publications as Bon Appetit, the New York Times, Garden & Gun, Fine Living, Gourmet, Southern Living and Saveur.
