The Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg has announced two performances of “Black Sabbath: The Ballet” at the Grande Salle in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 June 2024.

Choreographed by Pontus Lidberg (whose work has been performed by the Swedish Royal Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet), and composed by Chris Austin (whose work includes orchestrating the White Stripes music for Wayne McGregor’s Chroma), working with award-winning writer Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer, The Opera), this innovative ballet brings the music of the popular heavy metal band Black Sabbath to the stage, reimagined through the powerful medium of dance over three acts. The production features renowned dancers from the Birmingham Royal Ballet, while Black Sabbath themselves have been closely involved in developing this unique collaboration.

Performances are scheduled to start at 20:00 on both nights. Tickets are available for purchase on the official Théâtre de la Villes de Luxembourg website. Prices vary based on seating positions, ranging from €15 to €25 for adults; they cost €8 for youth.
