The Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois (TROIS C-L) and the Abbaye de Neumünster (neimënster) have announced details of a special edition Aerowaves Dance Festival Luxembourg.

The Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund and the Banannefabrik in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie will host the 2021 edition for which eight contemporary dance shows have been chosen from some 600 pieces from the Aerowaves network, to perform over four evenings, showcasing emerging talents of European dance. 

The festival will kick-off on Tuesday 31 August and will also have performances on Thursday 2, Friday 2 and Saturday 4 September; each day, performances start at 19:00, with the Day 3 conference at 17:00.

Rattling | Evrim Akyay & Su Güzey
Turkey invites itself into the neimënster enclosure with this residency release piece, developed by two laureates of the Aerowaves programme. A first for the Luxembourg festival!

Tanzanweisungen | Moritz Ostruschnujak
Youth culture and performance offer an explosive mix, which leads to an endless race ... The portrait of a stylised masculinity that carries the dancer to exhaustion.

DAY TWO: 2 September @ neimënster @ 19:00
The Housewife | Rebecca Journo
A feminist piece that explores the relationship between the body and work. Rebecca Journo explores how the execution of female archetypes and the repetition of tasks impact the dominated body.

POSTMODERN COOL | Ines Belli
The nostalgia for jazz dance and its aesthetics, prevalent in the '80s and '90s, are revisited here to reveal a contemporary vision full of humour.

A solo that articulates the parallels between the Filipino roots and the artist's classical training, while using a vocabulary imbued with hip-hop culture and voguing.
