Luxembourg Paralympic team;
On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026, Luxembourg's para cyclists took part in the fourth edition of the Handi Gard Classic, an international UCI C1 event held alongside the French Para Cycling Championships.
According to the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee (LPC), the competition featured a road race on Saturday and a time trial on Sunday in Méjannes-le-Clap, France, under extremely hot conditions.
Luxembourg was represented by Amsal Redzepovic (T2), as well as handcyclists Carlos Neves and Paul Kremer, who both competed in the H4 category. The team was supported on site by FSCL coach Mark Rohen and team manager Denis Toomey.
The LPC reported that the Luxembourg athletes impressed from the outset during Saturday's road race. In a particularly competitive H4 field, Carlos Neves secured an excellent third place, earning a podium finish for Luxembourg. Paul Kremer, who, like Amsal Redzepovic, had made his national team debut at the World Cup round in Ostend, Belgium, finished eighth. In the T2 category, Amsal Redzepovic claimed second place.
Sunday's time trial also proved successful for the Luxembourg delegation. Amsal Redzepovic won the T2 category, taking victory in the event. Carlos Neves finished in fourth place, narrowly missing out on the podium, while Paul Kremer once again secured eighth position.
Beyond these individual performances, the Luxembourg athletes collected valuable points for the Nations Ranking. This ranking plays an important role in the qualification process for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
