The Luxembourg Curling Union has named Team Kelly of Curling Club Luxembourg the winners of the National Team Championship 2021/22.
After six hours of intense fight at Kockelscheuer Ice Rink on Sunday, Team Kelly, composed of Dan Kelly, Claude Schweitzer, Alex Benoy and Candice Richards, won this year's National Team Championship.
In a best-of-three games rule, the first game was won by Team Wauters (Philippe Giltaire, Karen Wauters, Lukas Jirousek and Jean Champagne), who are also from Curling Club Luxembourg, by 5-4. Team Kelly won the second game by 7-1 and a third game had to be played in the late afternoon.
Team Kelly won this final game with the last two stones in the seventh end by 6-5, after a huge comeback, having been down 2-5 after three ends.
