The Fonds culturel national (FOCUNA) has launched a call for applications for the Edmond-Dune grant, a grant and editing assistance for professional theatre structures.

Since 2018, the fund, in collaboration with private patrons, has been offering a theatre writing grant to an author and editing assistance to a professional theatre structure to represent the winning work. The main objective of the grant is to support the process of creating innovative work in the field of performing arts.

The aim of the grant is mainly to support the creative process of innovative work in the performing arts.

The grant is awarded based on a call for projects to all authors of Luxembourg nationality or resident in Luxembourg, regardless of age, who can provide demonstrate a professional background. Co-writes may be submitted but must indicate the names of all the authors of the project.

The grant aims to support the production of an innovative work allowing authors to carry out a theatrical writing project, preferably in connection with a commission from a theatre or a project leader.

The text of the play can be written in Luxembourgish, French, German and/or English.

Texts must be submitted by the authors. Under no circumstances may companies or project promoters apply for creative support. The scripts must not have been performed in Luxembourg or abroad by the jury dates. A playwright may submit only one script per session.

Scripts for plays for young audiences or multiple dramaturgies are not accepted.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 27 October 2024.
