Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Prison Administration, have launched a call for projects as part of the "Accès à la culture – Kultur am Prisong" (access to culture in prisons) initiative.

This call for projects is intended for organisations in the cultural sector and aims to encourage the development of cultural projects to be carried out with prisoners in Schrassig Prison (Centre pénitentiaire de Luxembourg) and Givenich Prison (Centre pénitentiaire de Givenich).

With a view to integration, and through participatory or contemplative cultural activities to be proposed by the candidate organisations, the call for projects pursues the objective of offering detainees of the above-mentioned prisons the possibility of reconnecting with a part of society and to discover or revive new means of expression, while developing their talents or passions.

"Kultur am Prisong" is part of the implementation of the objectives of an inclusive cultural policy pursued, among others, by the series of "access to culture" calls, of which this marks the third call for projects. The initiative also contributes to the transposition of recommendations detailed in the "Kulturentwécklungsplang" (cultural development plan) for 2018-2028.

The conditions and criteria of the call for projects are available (in French) on the website of the Ministry of Culture.
