IMS - Inspiring More Sustainability Luxembourg has invited organisations in the Grand Duchy to join Diversity Day 2021, which is taking place on 20 May - a date which falls within European Diversity Month.

European Diversity Month aims to raise awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion in workplaces and in society throughout the European Union (EU). The European Platform for Diversity Charters now covers 26 national diversity charters, representing more than 12,000 signatory organisations and more than sixteen million employees.

Helena Dalli, EU Commissioner for Equality, noted: "Let’s all take a bolder stand for diversity and act about it. Let’s show our commitment to equality and this May 2021 celebrate the European Diversity Month together. With more diverse workplaces, we will create a fairer and more equal Europe for all”.

In Luxembourg, any organisation on the national territory can join Diversity Day. To participate, the organisation has to define an action theme, preferably directly or indirectly related to the organisation's core business, and submit it on the Diversity Charter website before 22 April 2021. The actions carried out by the organisations are all listed on the Diversity Charter website.

In this context, IMS organised its #DiversityDay21 preparation workshop on Tuesday 2 March 2021. With more than 90 participants from Luxembourgish companies and organisations, this online event allowed for collective reflection on the actions to be taken for the next national diversity day. Participants exchanged ideas to draw the first outlines of events to implement and promote diversity within their organisations. Testimonials illustrated last year's actions and a new action kit was shared with all participants. This kit, which is available on chartediversite.lu/fr/articles/diversity-day, contains examples of face-to-face and digital actions to adapt to the current health situation.
