IMS Luxembourg and the 1 OCEAN Foundation with the support of the European Investment Bank have announced an upcoming awareness-raising documentary screening and conference entitled “The Ocean is coming to Luxembourg” on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 June 2024.

This event aims to remind landlocked countries of their impact on and dependence on the oceans.

On Wednesday 5 June, an exclusive screening at Kinepolis Kirchberg starting at 19:00 will present the Great Barrier Reef, one of our planet's most diverse and fragile ecosystems. The audience will be able to discover the wonders of this unique underwater world and the challenges it faces.

A debate with professional diver, photographer and explorer, Alexis Rosenfeld, will follow the screening. He will share his experience and his views on the challenges of conserving marine ecosystems.  The event is open to all. On Thursday 6 June, a conference entitled “Towards a Sustainable Blue Economy” at the BGL BNP Paribas auditorium will take place from 09:00 to 14:00. It will explore challenges and solutions for protecting and preserving our oceans and the importance of financing sustainable projects for a responsible blue economy.
