Baroness Hale to Deliver Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Lecture in Luxembourg

The British-Luxembourg Society (BLS) has announced that Baroness Hale of Richmond will deliver this year's Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Lecture at St George's International School in Luxembourg-Hamm on Monday 20 November 2023 at 18:00.

The organisers of this event are the BLS, together with the British Embassy in Luxembourg and the Fondation Nationale de la Résistance.

Baroness Hale of Richmond served as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom from 2017 until her retirement in 2020. Her lecture will focus on "The Independence of the Judiciary and Some of its Enemies".

Other speakers at this event include: Darren Robinson, BLS President; Guy Dockendorf, Fondation Nationale de la Résistance; Louise Benjamin, former BLS President; Sir Nicholas Forwood K.C., Patron of the BLS; Patrick Santer, Patron of the BLS.

The lecture will be followed by a reception.
