The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of the Economy and the Embassy of Luxembourg in Bangkok, is organising the 2nd edition of ASEAN Day, which will take place on Tuesday 3 March 2020 at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, from 09:30 to 17:00.
The 2020 edition of ASEAN Day, under the title "Business Opportunities between Luxembourg and ASEAN countries", will bring together stakeholders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) embassies, trade offices, financial institutions and the private sector and will provide a unique platform for companies to exchange information and explore business opportunities in the areas of innovation, digital transformation, connectivity, green growth and sustainable finance.
ASEAN Day will also be an opportunity to specifically discuss the Luxembourg Business Partnership Facility (BPF), a financing facility aimed at supporting Luxembourg businesses to engage with partners in selected countries to kick-start innovative and sustainable business projects. This will be followed by a "business clinics" session allowing for direct exchanges between representatives from the private sector and ASEAN embassies.
The afternoon session will start with an overview of the state of play on EU-ASEAN trade arrangements with a special focus on the free trade agreements between EU-Singapore and EU-Vietnam, and the way ahead to further strengthen comprehensive relations between the EU and ASEAN. Subsequently, a panel discussion on sustainable and green finance will bring together experts to focus on ways of further developing the sustainable finance ecosystems and building synergies between Luxembourg and ASEAN countries. To round up the day, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research will provide a short presentation on the research and higher education landscape in Luxembourg and opportunities for collaboration with South East Asia.
