As part of the Nuremberg Trials exhibition at neimënster, historian Denis Scuto will be giving a lecture on "1945 and the post-war period - A new era for Luxembourg?" on Friday 26 April 2019 at 19:00.
From 1940 to 1945, the Grand Duchy was first invaded and then de facto annexed by Nazi Germany, which tried to establish a "new order" and was liberated by American troops who also introduced a "new era". Like Christophe Wagner's film "Eng nei Zäit", released in 2015, Denis Scuto, Deputy Director of the C2DH (Center for Contemporary and Digital History), questions this notion of a new era.
This conference is part of the events related to the exhibition "Nuremberg, a founding trial" (open until 12 May) and co-organised by neimënster, the Association Victor Hugo, Institut Français du Luxembourg, Institut Pierre Werner, the C2DH and the Cinémathèque.
