On 28 October 2016, by order of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Jérôme Laurent was named Mayor of the municipality of Mertert.
Last Friday at 15:00, the new mayor swore the prescribed oath under article 6 of the amended municipal law of 13 December 1988, before the Minister of the Interior, Dan Kersch.
The oath is as follows: “I swear loyalty to the Grand Duke, to observe the country’s Constitution and laws, and to fill the duties confided to me with zeal, precision, integrity and impartiality.”
Government advisors Laurent Deville and Laurent Knauf as well as Christian Coos, from the Ministry of the Interior, were also present at the taking of the oath.
