The British Ladies’ Club of Luxembourg (BLC) recently conducted its Annual General Meeting, during which members re-elected Amy Grech as Chair of the association, after taking over the position during the year.

According to the BLC, at the Annual Meeting Chair Amy Grech reported strong progress, noting that membership had steadily grown again thanks to expanded outreach and a rich variety of activities.

The BLC listed its highlights for the year as their Car Boot Sale, the Spring Quiz Night and the upcoming return of Gala Night, which will take place on Saturday 11 October 2025 at Parc Hôtel Alvisse. The BLC also confirmed that its traditional Christmas Lunch will take place on Thursday 11 December 2025.

The association said: “From cultural outings and social gatherings to family events, the BLC has offered something for everyone, reinforcing its role as a hub for meaningful friendships in Luxembourg.”

Looking ahead, Ms Grech highlighted the BLC’s recent achievements and future vision, which includes:

- continuing to offer a mix of members-only and women-only events;

- arranging more events which are open to non-members, as well as all genders and partners;

- plans for a women-in-business/startup support event early next year;

- an expansion of nature and cultural outings;

- the addition of more after-work and weekend events to accommodate the BLC’s working members.


The BLC have confirmed that their Committee for 2025-2026 will consist of:

·       Amy Grech – Chair;

·       Janet Macey – Vice-Chair;

·       Kathy Liebl – Secretary;

·       Svetlana Grishankova – Treasurer;

·       Emilie Fitzgerald – PR;

·       Joanne Morgan – Editor;

·       Keri Parker – Kids Coordinator;

·       Jessica Rose – Kids Coordinator.

For 2025-26, the members selected two new Luxembourg-based charities:

·       Femmes en détresse Asbl – supporting women in need;

·       Kanner-Jugendtelefon (KJT) – supporting children and young people.

The BLC thanked Andrée Birnbaum, director of Femmes en Détresse (FED), who attended the meeting and provided an overview of the work of FED. The BLC also confirmed that it will continue to work closely with its partners, including Chronicle.lu, The British Chamber of Commerce and the British & Irish Film Festival.

Amy Grech said: “Our vision remains rooted in connection, support and empowerment. Looking ahead, we aim to be as inclusive as possible.”

The BLC added: “With renewed energy, expanding membership and inspiring charity commitments, the BLC remains the place to be in Luxembourg.”
