The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in London, organised a multi-sectoral trade mission to London from Tuesday 7 to Wednesday 8 June 2022.

This trade mission served as a platform to discover the UK market as well as to inaugurate and officially launch the ‘Business Club Luxembourg - United Kingdom’, which will henceforth serve as the bridge between Luxembourg and the United Kingdom (UK) by bringing together a closely knit community of companies from various economic sectors.

Luxembourg and the UK share a longstanding bilateral relationship and the business community has been a major player in fostering these strong ties. The Business Club, the fourth of its kind after Berlin, Paris and Brussels, is a joint venture between the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Luxembourg to the UK.

During the mission, the more than 30 participants learned about trade and investment opportunities in London and the UK, as well as visited flagship projects in the British capital, namely King’s Cross, one of the largest and most successful redevelopments in London, ArcelorMittal Orbit, a famous 114.5-metre sculpture and observation tower in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park built with Luxembourgish steel, as well as Plexal, a high-tech innovation centre and coworking space featuring cutting-edge technologies.

Participants also had the opportunity to partake in an official Business Club Luxembourg - United Kingdom launch reception, in the presence of Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, Yuriko Backes, and the President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Luc Frieden, hosted by the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the UK, Jean Olinger. Over 100 businesswomen and men, local stakeholders and partners attended the official reception.
