The Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette has announced two upcoming events: a Brass Band concert and a concert by the Luxembourg Military Band for the Music Prize (Prix de la Musique) of Rotary Club Esch-sur-Alzette.

Given that the traditional Saint Etienne Brass Band concert was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conservatory will now hold a similar concert on Sunday 6 March 2022 at 20:00 at Sacred Heart Church (Eglise du Sacré Cœur) in Esch-Grenz (77 Rue Zénon Bernard).

This concert will feature the following soloists: Corinne Diaz-Gerend (violin), Simone Martiny (soprano), Daniel Gruselle (bandoneon), Malou Garofalo (clarinet) and Paul Breisch (organ), under the direction of Claude Schlim.

The Brass Band concert will take place as part of the Esch2022 - European Capital of Culture programme and is organised by Ensemble Esch 2022. Tickets cost €20 (€12 for students).

The Luxembourg Military Band will then play a concert on Friday 11 March 2022 during the 12th edition of the Music Prize of Rotary Club Esch-sur-Alzette. The Rotary Club Esch-sur-Alzette created this prize in 2010, as part of its 50th anniversary. Since then, the prize has been awarded each year to young students from the Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette who have achieved exceptional results.

For this edition, which will take place on 11 March at 20:00 at the Maison des Arts et Etudiants (University of Luxembourg) in Esch-Belval, the organisers managed to hire the Luxembourg Military Band which will be on the bill together with these chosen students, who will perform as soloists.

For these two events, tickets can be reserved from the Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette directly via tel.: 2754-9725, or via email: reservation.conservatoire@villeesch.lu. Further information is available online at: www.conservatoire.esch.lu.
