On Friday 11 September 2015, Luxembourgish pianist Cathy Krier will be releasing her new album 'Piano-20th Century' on label CAvi-music.

'Piano-20th Century' will represent the musician's fourth CD and will feature Alban Berg's Sonata Op. 1; Arnold Schönberg's Piano Pieces Opp. 11/33a/33b; Bernd Alois Zimmerman's Enchiridion part I + II; as well as two pieces 'Nuages grie' and 'Unstern! - Sinistre' by Franz Liszt.

Cathy Krier's musical interest began at an early age, when she started taking piano lessons at the Luxembourg Conservatoire at the age of five. She later studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, before performing with various renowned orchestras and classical musicians on prestigious stages around Europe.

No stranger to the stage at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, Cathy also makes regular appeareances at Echternach International, Bourglinster and 'Musek am Syrdall' Festivals in Luxembourg, as well as reputed performances at venues across the US, the Netherlnads, Austria, Spain, Germany, Latvia, Andorra, Italy, France and Belgium.

This year involves performances at the Münsterland Festival, as well as October concerts at the Bozar in Brussels and the Barbican Centre in London. Both concerts form part of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO)'s 'Rising Stars' series, for which Cathy has been chosen by the Philharmonie Luxembourg for the 2015/16 season. On this occasion she will perform, amongst others, a piece which was specially written for her by renowned German composer Wolfgang Rihm.
