The China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (CHINALUX) has announced that it has signed co-operation agreements with the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China and the EU Small and Medium-size Enterprise Center in Beijing

On 5 June 2015, CHINALUX signed a co-operation agreement with the Beijing Chapter of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China (Bencham). On that same week, on 3 June, a similar co-operation agreement had been signed with the Shanghai Chapter. With this agreement, CHINALUX members will have easier access to the wealth of experience and expertise offered by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, which complements the existing close collaboration between CHINALUX and Luxembourg institutions physically present in the country such as the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Shanghai and the Luxembourg Embassy in Beijing. H.E. Mr Paul Steinmetz, Luxemboug’s Ambassador to China and Consul General in Shanghai, Luc Decker, showed their support by attending the signature ceremonies in Beijing and Shanghai respectively.

During the ceremony in Beijing, CHINALUX signed another co-operation agreement, this time with the EU SME Centre, a EU-funded project that assists small and medium size enterprises in the Chinese market. The Centre provides an extensive range of services in the form of research, reports, training and even physical infrastructure. These will be of easier access thanks to these agreements.

According to Dirk Dewitte, who signed the agreements on behalf of CHINALUX in his role as President of the Chamber, said “the signature sets a crucial milestone for our Chamber as it will enable us to better guide Luxembourg SMEs through resources available to them in China.” Pierre Eloy signed as President of the board of BenCham Beijing.
