Europa Donna Luxembourg, a non-profit organisation actively involved in the fight against breast cancer, has announced that it recently received a donation from Fraentreff Luerentzweiler, a women's club based in Lorentzweiler.

On Friday 14 November 2025, Fraentreff Luerentzweiler presented a cheque for €3,000 to Europa Donna Luxembourg to support breast cancer awareness. The donation came from proceeds raised over the years through various activities organised by the club.

Founded in 1994, the Fraentreff Luerentzweiler has since organised a range of activities for its approximately 40 members, including theatre and cinema outings, bowling evenings, cultural day trips both in Luxembourg and abroad, lectures, hikes and wellness activities.

The club also hosts an annual event for the wider Lorentzweiler community - originally children's theatre and later theatre performances or cabaret featuring Luxembourgish and international artists.

Additional activities have included fashion shows in cooperation with businesses from the Alzette Valley and cooking classes.

According to Europa Donna Luxembourg, these activities reflect the shared values of staying active and socially connected, which are fundamental to health at any age.

The organisation thanked Fraentreff Luerentzweiler for its support, noting that the donation will help fund supportive therapies that complement traditional breast cancer treatments. These measures aim to relieve the burden on and support patients.
