On Thursday 24 October 2024, at the Achille Hamerell Stadium in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, the Special Olympics National Football team will play a team from Stëmm vun der Strooss in a friendly match.
The match has been arranged by Luc Melchior, coach of the Special Olympics Luxembourg national football team. Mustapha Haddar, of Stëmm vun der Strooss, selected a mix group of beneficiaries of the various Stëmm sites in Luxembourg to play for the non-profit organisation.
Stëmm vun der Strooss, founded in 1996, promotes the social and professional integration of underprivileged and discriminated individuals through reintegration services and workshops. The association stated that they are honoured to be invited to participate in the match which will highlight people who are often forgotten by society for various reasons.
