On Friday 6 October 2023, the glass-covered Luxembourg-Gare area will transform into a market place for the latest edition of the “Be Local” solidarity market, organised by Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL.

This year's event will feature seven protected workshops from various regions of Luxembourg, showcasing their locally produced food items and seasonal gift ideas. These products are the result of the hard work of individuals with disabilities and those involved in social reintegration. The participating workshops include ATP asbl, the Kraizbierg Foundation, Autisme Luxembourg asbl, Cooperations, Op der Schock, Mutferter Haff and Yolande Coop. The market will be held under the glass roof of the central train station in the capital city, running from 10:00 to 18:00.

In addition to the exhibitors, the "Island of Clowns" association will also be present, providing entertainment during the market. The non-profit organisation's clowns visit patients in hospital including many children and elderly people in day homes and care facilities. Their aim is to bring moments of joy, relief, and attentive listening to those they interact with.

The products presented during this solidarity market prove that people in a situation of social reintegration or living with a disability find their place in society through work that allows them to develop their creativity and skills,” declared Marc Wengler, Director General of the CFL.
