On Monday 5 December 2022, the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) donated €50,000 to ten Luxembourg-based non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on the occasion of its first Associations Day event.

For the event, BIL focused on health by inviting ten NGOs that strive to improve the quality of life of people suffering from illnesses or disabilities, and help them find employment. The NGOs presented their activities to BIL employees and at the end of the day, each association received a cheque for €5,000, totalling €50,000 in donations.

The ten NGOs were the following:

  • Fondation Cancer
  • Fondation Kriibskrank Kanner
  • Fondation Autisme Luxembourg
  • Télévie
  • ALAN – Maladies Rares Luxembourg
  • ELA Luxembourg
  • Médecins du Monde
  • Île aux Clowns
  • La Main Tendue
  • Chiens Guides d’Aveugles au Luxembourg

Marcel Leyers, CEO of BIL, said: “The work carried out by these organisations is remarkable. It is an honour for BIL to open its doors, to welcome them so we can learn more about their activities and support them financially.”

This Associations Day is part of BIL's sustainable development strategy, which aims, in particular, to have a positive impact on the economy and local communities. Its focus on Luxembourg and support for local organisations are at the centre of its action.
