On Thursday evening, more than 150 people took part in the first "Gala Charity Evening" organised by The Charity Incubator (TCI) at Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg-Grund.

The evening began with a welcome cocktail during which nearly 20 charities had the opportunity to present their activities. During the gala dinner that followed, TCI representatives introduced the newly founded organisation and its mission. TCI is a non-profit organisation created in 2022 on the initiative of 20 professionals with the aim of creating bridges between the charitable world and companies active in Luxembourg.

"We all know from experience that working together requires energy and time, but we are convinced that it is the best way to go beyond our limits, to find innovative and effective solutions, to increase our impact", explained Elisa Dolci, President of TCI.

Serge Borg, member of the board of directors of TCI, shared how the collective efforts of all the members of the non-profit over the past few months have already borne fruit: "We are delighted to see that this year the number of charities participating in the Gala doubled compared to the previous edition".

Eighteen national and international charities were present, representing different sectors including humanitarian aid, development aid, support for children, the promotion of human rights, environmental protection and inclusive finance. On the business side, there were eleven corporate sponsors, who participated with the aim of donating to a charity with which they already collaborate. As a result of this commitment, the gala evening raised a total of €22,950.

Marco Caldana, founder of the FARAD Group, one of the corporate sponsors, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the evening: "A unique result for a unique concept which enabled the nearly 20 organisations to present themselves to a very diverse audience, and in particular many C-levels from the world of finance and industry. A great opportunity for them therefore, but also for the business world which is increasingly looking for social impact. This initiative fully offers an answer to the S of ESG".

The guest of honour was Luxembourg's Minister of Sports and Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, George Engel, who, despite not being able to attend in person, shared a video message with the participants in which he thanked the charities present for their commitment and their dedication in favour of those most in need, emphasising that they represent an important pillar in our society. He thus encouraged them to continue their valuable work.

Building on this successful launch event, TCI will organise the next Gala Charity Evening on 12 October 2023, "with the objective of again doubling the number of charities present and the number of donors", confirmed TCI board member Francis Gasparotto. This evening is one of several projects planned for 2023. Between now and next year, TCI plans to organise many exchange, training and awareness initiatives to allow charities and the corporate world to create together a real impact for the benefit of society.

About the Gala Charity Evening

The event, now in its fourth edition, was launched in 2018 by FARAD Group founder Marco Caldana. Since then, there has been growing interest from financial sector entities and others. Following the 2021 edition, in order to maximise the event's potential, it was decided, in collaboration with various professionals from the for-profit and charity sectors, to create an independent entity that could take over of this initiative and launch many others to foster collaboration between these two worlds: The Charity Incubator.
