Luxembourg supermarket chain Cactus, together with UNICEF Luxembourg, launched a call for solidarity in all its supermarkets in early March 2022 to help children and their families in Ukraine, the victims of war.
During this urgent fundraiser “Hëllef fir d’Kanner an der Ukraine”, all gestures of generosity counted and raised almost €100,000. This amount donated by customers, collected via the cash desks of Cactus supermarkets, was doubled by the management of the Cactus family business, thus returning to a total of €200,000.
The check of €200,000 was handed over to UNICEF Luxembourg officials on Thursday 28 April 2022.
