ASTI, the non-profit association for migrant workers in Luxembourg, has appealed for donations to help undocumented immigrants survive during the challenging circumstances linked to COVID-19.
The association stressed that the undocumented immigrants who live and work in Luxembourg no longer have any resources to survive since the companies that employ them have suspended their activities, nor do they have the right to any assistance. Many of these individuals lack social security and cannot return to their home country.
ASTI has been monitoring many undocumented immigrants, including families with children, who have tried to regularise their status and who have now turned to the association in desperation. Despite the availability of social grocery stores, there are still bills to pay and some of these families can no longer afford basic commodities. In this case, ASTI provides food vouchers to be used at social grocery stores.
To support these efforts, ASTI has called on the Luxembourg public to make a donation via bank transfer to the ASTI Solidarité account CCPL LU72 1111 1515 1501 0000 with the reference "support for undocumented migrants". All donations to ASTI are tax deductible and will go exclusively to undocumented migrant workers during this difficult time.
