Luxembourg law firm Wildgen today announced that 28 local companies participated in the fifth edition of its "Wildgen 4 Children" collections for the benefit of twelve children's charities.

From 20 November to 9 December 2019, 28 Luxembourg companies organised Wildgen 4 Children collections among their employees and the public as part of this initiative to support thousands of children. Thanks to this widespread show of solidarity, the Michel Greco warehouse was flooded with thousands of toys, games, books and school items as well as sports and computer equipment.

As detailed in the UNICEF 2019 report on children’s rights in Luxembourg, which was funded by the Wildgen law firm, child poverty is seeing annual increases, having risen from 4.5% of relative poverty in 2000 to 13% in 2016. Striking disparities are evident within the country’s population and many children are facing complex realities, whether that be due to disability, illness or increasing levels of vulnerability.

To help alleviate some of the strain this situation puts on local charities, the Wildgen 4 Children collection was set up in 2014. This national collection o aims to provide the maximum level of support for charities in the wider region working to promote, develop and safeguard children’s rights.

The number of companies taking part in Wildgen 4 Children more than quadrupled in the past five years, going from six to 28.
