YOUrovelo charity cycle ride 2018;
On Tuesday 21 August 2018, the YOUrovelo 2018 action, a summer youth exchange organised for the seventh consecutive year by Young Caritas and funded by the European Erasmus Plus programme, closed.
From 13 to 21 August, a total of 32 young people aged 15 to 26, cycled around Luxembourg. It was not only for them to discover the beautiful country, but also to get to know each other better and to forge new links. Among the young people there were eight refugees from the homes run by Caritas Luxembourg, eight young people from Georgia, eight young people from South Tirol, as well as eight Luxembourgers - a cultural mix that proved to be very rich in exchanges.
In total, the group travelled more than 190km, twenty meals were shared, and they stopped in thirty villages and led a very varied social, cultural and political programme. This tour will remain for all a strong moment of their life that they will not forget.
The tour closed yesterday with the arrival in Luxembourg. The young people were welcomed by the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer, and the Director General of Caritas Youth and Families asbl, Carina Goncalves.
