On Wednesday 31 January 2018, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, the Luxembourg Army and the "Fren von v Militärmusek" organised the 30th Annual Benefit Concert with the Military Grand Ducal Music at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg; this year donations were collected in aid of the Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse.

The concert also closed the festivities for the 175th anniversary of the Grand Ducal Military Music and the 50th anniversary of the Luxembourg Army volunteer service. At the end of the concert, €7,155.90 was collected.

Today, the cheque was presented to the Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse at the Hotel de Ville in Luxembourg city centre in the presence of various representatives, with Mike Van Kauvenbergh, Director of the foundation, receiving the cheque from the Mayor of Luxembourg city, Lydie Polfer, and others.

The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Foundation's primary vocation is to serve the most vulnerable. Created in 1981 on the occasion of the marriage of the current Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, the Prince Henri - Princess Maria Teresa Foundation (today: Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse) has been working since its origins in favour of the integration and inclusion of people in distress.

For more than 30 years, the Foundation has been fighting against all forms of exclusion - in Luxembourg and abroad - by contributing to the financing of projects in the social and disability fields. At the same time, the Foundation intervenes directly and on an ad hoc basis with families in distress in the Grand Duchy. The international component for the benefit of very disadvantaged populations complements the action of the Foundation.
