LUX WMN, an English-language business and lifestyle magazine for women in Luxembourg, officially launched its new LUX WMN Club at a networking event on Tuesday evening.

The event, held at SPACES in Luxembourg-Gare, brought together dozens of women at various stages of their career for an evening full of networking activities, crémant and sushi.

Amanda Roberts, publisher and owner of City Savvy Luxembourg and LUX WMN magazine, explained how her team had launched LUX WMN in 2019, with the intention of creating a magazine but also building a community. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and the networking club plans were put on hold. "We launched the magazine two months before COVID hit Luxembourg and everything got shut down", Amanda told Chronicle.lu, adding that the team had made a few attempts "to get things going" during the pandemic (amid restrictions) but there was a reluctance among the public to attend events. "Last night was the real and official launch of what we've been dreaming about", she said. "The Club is now a real thing, with individual, small business and corporate memberships".

Katarzyna Bialek, event manager at LUX WMN, presented in more detail the membership benefits, which include invitations to monthly networking meetings, workshops and webinars, as well as social events, access to an inclusive LUX WMN online community and an annual subscription to LUX WMN magazine.

Activities on Tuesday evening included a speed networking session and a team quiz on women's history. The evening concluded with three attendees, whose business cards were chosen at random, winning prizes, such as a bottle of crémant.
