The Luxembourg Business Registers ("LBR"), an economic interest group, announced yesterday that the administrative deadline for the "Register of Beneficial Owners" (RBO) filing has been extended to 30 November 2019.

The RBO Law entered into force on 1 March 2019 and included a six-month transitional period at the end of which concerned Luxembourgish entities are required to be in compliance with the law's provisions.

Whilst the initial deadline of 31 August 2019 legally remains in place (according to the RBO Law), the administrative decision to extend the deadline offers beneficial owners extra time to comply with the RBO Law.

In theory, registrations made until 30 November 2019 will thus remain free of charge.

For further information, see the LBR website: https://www.lbr.lu/mjrcs-lbr/jsp/IndexActionNotSecured.action?time=1567174223127&loop=3.

The LBR is an economic interest grouping the RCSL, which consolidates the State, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Trades. Its mission is to manage and to develop, beyond the Trade and Companies Register, the different registers with which it may be trusted.
