On Tuesday 20 September 2022, BGL BNP Paribas announced the launch of a fully digital "AideFi" student loan.
AideFi is a type of financial aid introduced by the government to give students who meet certain criteria the possibility of funding their higher education. The government’s financial aid for higher education comprises four grant instalments and a student loan.
The fully digital AideFi is launched in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), the Ministry for Digitalisation and the Government IT Centre (CTIE).
Since Monday 12 September 2022, students have been able to request this loan to finance their higher education directly on the bank’s Web Banking app, without needing to visit a branch. Whether applying for the first time or requesting a new tranche, students would need to scan the QR code shown on the "Certificate for your bank" letter sent by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, after making a submission through MyGuichet.lu.
