Film Fund Luxembourg has reported that "A Long Goodbye", an innovative immersive virtual reality work by Kate Voet and Victor Maes, co-produced by Tarantula Luxembourg (Donato Rotunno), Belgium and the Netherlands, with 2D/3D animation created by the Luxembourg studio Velvet Flare, has been awarded the Venice Immersive Achievement Prize, one of the three major awards presented in the Venice Immersive category at the 82nd Venice Film Festival.

This award recognises A Long Goodbye for its creativity and the quality of its production, as well as its innovative use of immersive technologies.

Luxembourg's Minister of Culture, Eric Thill, stated: "Another great recognition for our audiovisual and film sector: working with Luxembourg can be highly rewarding".

"This achievement confirms that the commitment of the Film Fund Luxembourg to new digital forms is paying off. The work rightly illustrates the narrative and emotional potential of the immersive experience," added its director, Guy Daleiden.

Last year, Luxembourg won two of the three major awards in this same category.
