
On 21 September 2015, the Valentiny Foundation awarded several prizes for the first edition of its Award programme at the Augustinshaus in Schwebsange.
The student projects were exhibited at the Augustinshaus, presided over by Peter Cachola Schmal, Diretor of the Deutsche Architektur Museum in Frankfurt.
A jury of nine professionals deliberated over the candidates, which included projects from across Europe, China and Japan.
The jury was composed of Arch. Diplômée Tatiana Fabeck, President of the Valentiny Foundation; Prof. Arch. Massimiliano Fuksas, Architect in Rome, Paris and Shenzen in China; Jean-Bernard Metai, French sculptor and visual artists; Prof. Mah. Arch. Hubert Hermann, Architect in Vienna and Leipzig; Prof. Dr. Rainer Klump, Rector of the University of Luxembourg; Ben Homan, Mayor of Schengen town; Roger Weber, Deputy Mayor of Schengen town; Gilles Estgen, Member of the Board of Directors of Valentiny Foundation; and Arch. G.G. Kirchner, Director of the Valentiny Foundation.
Over 50 students submitted their projects to the competition, but it was Roberto Boettger of the Architectural Association London who cam away with 1st Prize. 2nd Prize went to Jakobus Schwartz of the Hochschule Trier, with Alexandra Völker of HTWK Leipzig receiving 3rd Prize.
Amélie Nora Sahr of Technische Universität Wien also received a special prize, and 12 honourable mentions were given to Shahin Farahzadi; Julia Witt; Florian Bennemann; Tamara Kahn; Marc Differding; Alban Wagener; Rebecca Alsfasser; Undine Kimmel; Charles Wagner; Maike Wildanger; Pan Kalin; and Cornelius Oswald.
Statingthat the projects had all been interesting, the Foundation decided to offer all participants a signed lithograph from Francois Valentiny, after whom the Foundation was established.
