A motorist died on Tuesday evening while driving his car on the CR306 from Roost towards Bissen.
The accident happened shortly before 20:30 as another car with a driver and a front-seat passenger, was being driven in the opposite direction.
The exact circumstances of the accident are as yet unclear, but both cars collided. The two occupants of the car travelling from Bissen were hospitalised with what were described as serious injuries, while the driver of the car coming from Roost was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
Both vehicles were destroyed in the accident. The public prosecutor ordered an investigation be carried out into the cause of the accident, including a forensics investigation of the scene.
