On Monday 29 January 2018, a filling station on the rue de Wasserbillig in Mertert was held up at gunpoint.
The armed robbery happened shortly after 21:15; a member of staff contacted the police emergency number at 21:20 to report that an armed robbery had just taken place. Two masked offenders had threatened the employees with pistols and stole cash from the till. Then they fled towards the carpark of the nearby Copal / Match shopping centre.
The police arrived on the scene but could find no trace of the perpetrators who had fled the scene.
Nobody was injured in the robbery.
Both perpetrators wore gloves, their facees were covered with what was described as a motorcycle mask.
· Offender 1: dressed in black jeans and black hooded sweater, black shoes with white soles.
· Offender 2: dressed in gray trousers, khaki hooded jacket and carrying a black backpack.
