On Friday 2 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two men had been arrested following a violent theft in Luxembourg-Gare the previous day.

At around 01:30 on Thursday 1 October 2026, a woman had a necklace forcibly torn from her neck in the area of Place de Paris.

According to initial police information, two men approached the victim and another woman. One of the men reportedly spoke to the women and asked them for money, while the second suddenly tore the necklace from the victim's neck.

The two suspects then fled in different directions. Police immediately launched a search and located both men shortly afterwards near the scene.

On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the police arrested both suspects and brought them before an investigating judge later that day.
