On Monday 1 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported a further extradition in connection with a series of burglaries committed in Luxembourg between 2019 and 2022.
According to the police, the investigation concerns a criminal group from Southeast Europe believed to be linked to organised crime and suspected of responsibility for numerous burglaries across the Grand Duchy. The investigation has been conducted by Luxembourg police and judicial authorities in close cooperation with international partners.
The police noted that, following cooperation between the competent authorities of Luxembourg and Serbia, another suspect believed to have been involved in a large number of burglaries in Luxembourg was arrested and extradited to the Grand Duchy.
The suspect was brought before an investigating judge, who issued a detention warrant.
The investigation is being conducted by the Serious Organised Crime Unit (Répression du Grand-Banditisme) of the Judicial Police under the supervision of an investigating judge from the Luxembourg judicial district.
The Grand Ducal Police added that the extradition marks a further development in the extensive long-term investigation into the burglary series.
The presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction has been issued.
