The Grand Ducal Police has announced that from Friday 1 May 2026, it has extended the opening hours of the Luxembourg-Ville police station.
Attached to the Capital region and located on Rue du Fossé, the station is now staffed 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
According to the police, this extension forms part of efforts to strengthen visible police presence in strategic locations.
The opening hours of the Gare/Hollerich police station were already extended at the end of 2024, also with the aim to ensure public safety and prevent incidents.
In total, the Police provides 33 police stations for citizens, spread across four police regions: North, South-West, Centre-East and Capital. These stations aim to ensure all core local policing functions, including emergency response, public reception and assistance, as well as community and preventive work.
Fifteen police stations operate continuously, 24 hours a day and seven days a week, providing services preferably by appointment, noted the authorities.
The remaining eighteen police stations are generally open from Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 21:00, open to the public between 13:00 and 15:00 or by appointment.
Currently, the number of police members in direct contact with citizens stands at 1,756, compared to 1,651 in 2025.
In addition to police stations, citizens can also use the E-commissariat, which allows them to file a complaint online and complete a number of other procedures without visiting a police station.
In case of emergency, the single point of contact remains 113.
