Around 30 people gathered for a demonstration outside the US Embassy in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg around midday on Tuesday 10 March 2026.
The vigil was organised by the Friddens- a Solidaritéitsplattform ("Peace and Solidarity Platform"), which had called on the public to protest against what it described as the US and Israel's "war of aggression" against Iran and to demand an immediate end to hostilities.
The organisers said they "condemn this new war, which gives cause for the worst fears, hinders any peaceful solutions and will only provoke further conflict", also arguing that "the democratisation of Iran must come from the grassroots and find its own path".
Speaking to Chronicle.lu, photographer and protester Nader Ghavami said he had come to "document what is happening in my country" and to express opposition to the conflict. "I am very sad [about] this war," he said. "Since the beginning, I [have] always thought that war is not a solution. We saw what happened with every war."
He added that he - like many Iranians - felt conflicted about the current situation. While he initially welcomed the fall of "a dictator" (Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei), Nader said the ongoing conflict had already brought significant destruction and loss of life. He also warned that the conflict could weaken the country and deepen political instability. He described the situation as "very disappointing".
