The Grand Ducal Police have reported separate incidents in Dudelange, Ettelbruck and Heisdorf on Wednesday 25 February 2026.
Altercation in Dudelange
On Wednesday evening, police received a report of an altercation involving several individuals on Rue du Centenaire in Dudelange. A police patrol was dispatched to the scene and located the victim, who received initial treatment before being taken to hospital for further care.
According to preliminary information, the victim had been in a nearby park when two suspects approached him in a vehicle and asked him to get in so they could speak. When he refused, a scuffle broke out, during which the victim was injured. When a witness attempted to intervene, the suspects fled but returned a short time later. The victim nevertheless managed to escape. Police said it seemed that one of the suspects and the victim knew each other. Following a search operation, one suspect was apprehended and a report was filed.
Arrest in Ettelbruck
Earlier that morning, police were alerted to an intoxicated man causing a disturbance and harassing passersby at Ettelbruck train station. Officers encountered the man at the scene and reported that he had been uncooperative, insulting them and making death threats.
During a search, officers seized a tablet computer, which was later confirmed to be stolen property. A subsequent body search yielded additional stolen items. Due to his intoxicated state and the risk he posed to himself and others, the man was initially taken into custody to sober up after a medical examination. After his arrest, he was transferred to the detention centre (Centre de rétention). A report was filed.
Robbery in Heisdorf
On Wednesday evening, police received a report of a robbery at Heisdorf train station. According to initial information, two teenagers had arranged to meet in order to sell clothing when they were attacked and threatened with a knife by a man. The suspect stole the clothes and a mobile phone before fleeing the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
